Lily lives in a small house with her dog, Max. Max is a small, brown dog with big, sad eyes. Every Saturday, Lily takes Max for a walk in the big city park. Max loves to run and play there.
One sunny Saturday, Lily and Max are in the park. Lily sits on a bench and reads a book for a minute. Max sees a squirrel and suddenly runs away to chase it. When Lily looks up, Max is gone! «Oh no!» she thinks. She starts to look for him everywhere.
She walks and walks, but she can’t find him. She begins to feel worried. She sees an old man on a bench. «Excuse me,» she says. «I lost my dog. He is small and brown. Did you see him?» The man smiles. «Sorry, I didn’t see him. Good luck!» he says.
Lily doesn’t give up. She sees a woman with a baby. «Excuse me,» she asks again. «Did you see my dog?» «No, I didn’t,» the woman says, «but I can help you look for him. Let’s go together!» They look for Max near the trees and near the lake.
Suddenly, they hear a noise. It comes from some big bushes. «What is that?» Lily whispers. They go to the bushes and look inside. And there is Max! He is tired, but he is happy to see Lily. He wags his tail. Lily is so happy! She picks him up and hugs him. «I found you!» she cries. She thanks the woman for her help. In the end, everything is okay, and Lily goes back home with her best friend.
